Finally got a chance to try this place out and I must say I was disappointed. I ordered the "black n blue salad","volcano chicken", and the "coconut shrimp". The food was decent, I would put the quality inline with places like "TGI Fridays" or "Applebee's" . The salad had hardly any steak on it and the menu stated the coconut shrimp was a "large order" which I found to be a little bit of an overstatement. The pricing was way out of line for the quality and quantity of food received. Overall a clean restaurant with friendly staff. Over priced menu with average food.

We went the other night and had the flank steak with the fixings. Let me start off with letting everyone know, the waitress knew absolutely nothing about the food, the menu, or anything. The steak was overcooked (we ordered medium rare and got well) and very chewy. The mashed potatoes were absolutely the best part of the meal. We ordered green beans as our vegetable, they tasted straight from the can. For the salad, hands down awesome salad if you like spring mix. As an appetizer, we ordered the coconut chicken bites. The chicken bites were overcooked and had way too much breading on it. We picked over our meals, went to the Burger Joint down the street to actually get dinner. Would have told the waitress but she never came back around except to drop our check.

If you don't mind plain, average food or have never traveled in your life, this is tube place for you! Mongolian BBQ? Seriously have you never been to a Mongolian restaurant? Slow and got it wrong service.

Went here because "The Jungle" was closed. I got the chicken bowl and it was decent. My partner had the fish tacos and they were horrible. The fish was not fresh at all. The server was nice but failed to refill our drinks because cleaning the table that was just used was more important...although it was super slow in there. Wouldn't go back or recommend. Which is disappointing because it's a great location and super nice inside.

1 star not because it was that bad, but because there's nothing good for me to say that would recommend for you to go there. The food is just not good that's the bottom line dried up stuffing in flounder and too much stuff going on in the Mongolian beef.. service is ok not personable. Wouldn't go back.

Bright, stylish place with good drinks (I could even get diet ginger ale with my whiskey!) and excellent food. Prices for dinner ranged from about $12-25. Really liked it; too bad it's all the way across the causeway.

Probably the worst meal I've had in a long time. After sending back one of our entrees because the steak had zero flavor and was tough as shoe leather the replacement fried shrimp wasn't much better. The mongo beef only had the flavor of the sour cream and cilantro but the beef had zero flavor. Our waitress was very nice and apologetic and the manager came out and apologized. They must have seated us in the children's section as the 3 tables around us had screaming kids running around the table the entire time. What a shame as it could be a really cute place. We won't be back.

This place is pretty nice. The atmosphere was interesting and the server was attentive. I got the mojo pork bowl and it was very good. The portions are generous and I ended up taking over half of it home. I would not classify the food as strictly Hawaiian or Polynesian because there are some definite Caribbean influences, but still a fun menu. This may just be a matter of personal taste, but we didn't care for the fritters.

I absolutely love hula moon! Their food is very unique and flavorful. The service and waiters are always wonderful. I haven't been here during a dinner rush or busy time so I tend to get great service. I have no idea why this restaurant has three stars because I give it five always, I suggest coming at an off time like 2 pm.

I went to Hula Moon with a group for Taco Tuesday Happy Hour. Since I was going to have tacos, I thought I would have a Margarita. I am not a fan of sour mix so I asked the server if they had a Margarita made with just lime juice instead of mix. She responded, "Well, I guess we could make you a Margarita with ROSE'S LIME JUICE." AAACK. Rose's Lime Juice is the appropriate choice for making a Gimlet, not a Margarita. I told her I was referring to the juice from a fruit with a green peel not a bottle and she responded, "Oh, we don't have that." What?! I hope she was incorrect because I can't imagine a restaurant with a full bar that doesn't have fresh limes! I ended up ordering Vodka with Club Soda and I was glad there was a slice of real lemon on the side. The drink was good and at only $2.50 it was a great value. The server did a reasonably good job taking care of our group although I would've appreciated a 5 or 10 minute warning before the end of Happy Hour. I ordered a Fish Taco and Chicken Taco which were $2.50 each for Happy Hour. They were pretty unremarkable, no spice or sauce with the filling wrapped in unheated, flavorless, flour tortillas. The Fish Taco was the better of the two. I asked for some salsa and the server brought a tiny plastic cup of bland Pico De Gallo which I was charged $.50 for. Although the tacos were cheap, I thought charging for a dab of chopped tomato was lame.

Yikes, I was in really in high hopes of trying a new restaurant and becoming new fave but Hula Moon just isn't doing it for me. They missed about mark they can to keep a customer coming back. SERVICE was absolutely UNBEARABLE here. It took me approx. 1 hour here to have 3 Tacos and one margarita.. With a half empty Restaurant. Once seated, server took 10 minutes to drop by for a quick drink order. Another 10 minutes to get the drinks in front of us, but she forgot the requested water. 15 minutes without seeing the server, I have to walk to the bar to request a water for myself. 5 minutes after returning to table, the food order is finally taken. Food surprisingly didn't take as long as I had thought comparing it to the service. Food was alright, the meat of the tacos is prepared ok but the lack of quality of the tortillas totally destroy the taco. Serving these cold thick tasteless tortillas is not the route to go.. Oh, a helpful tip. Do not order the lobster taco. You'll receive no more than 5 sad pieces of meat.. Chicken and pork quantity is more than enough. Back to service, we the food was initially dropped off I requested one more margarita. Fast forward to by the time we finished our tacos the drink never arrived. Now another 15 has gone by and I have seen everybody else's waitress but my own. So now, I have dirty plates and empty glasses on my table but no staff has yet to notice. I had to actually grab at a walking by waitress to hunt my server down. When the check arrives the MIA margarita is still on the tab I address it with her I never received it and would not care for it. She actually makes it sound like an inconvenience to have a manager override the drink and offered to just bring it right away. Absolutely not, run my card with the new amount. Here comes the best part, the bartender comes over and sets down a tall margarita on the table. Wow. The bills comes back with the new amount luckily, we paid and left immediately. Never touching that margarita. I don't know, nothing impressed with that restaurant. If you can't get customer service down right then you might as well don't bother at all. One star for now.

Stoppped in for some apps and a cocktail or two. Had a crown and coke. It was made very well and tasty. We ordered a pu pu platter to share. It was delicious and the small grill allowed you to finish your chicken to your liking which was very nice. I will have to stop by again to give dinner a try.

First time to visit this restaurant. I had pork taco's my husband had their version of a Cuban sandwich with kettle fries. All of the food was really good. Our server was great made suggestions and very attentive. They have live music and that was the only issue. It was good music but just to loud for this smaller area. It was hard to talk across the table. It didn't make for a relaxing dinner. But all in all it was a great place for dinner. I certainly would come back.

Not too pleased with the quality/taste of the food although the presentation is nice. Overall, would recommend; but don't get your hopes up on having the best food of your life.

Stopped in for lunch because we've been wanting to try this place. There was only one other table of guests when we arrived. The server was very quick to seat us and take our drink orders. I ordered The Embargo (I think that was the name of the Cuban sandwich) at the recommendation of our server because I have never had a Cuban sandwich before. My husband ordered the Ahi Poke bowl. We were both happy with our meal and will definitely return to try something else on the menu. The service was quick and friendly.

Ooh so anything that deals or sounds with Hawaii grabs my attention, the name hula moon sounded cool. I looked at the reviews and I saw the place hadn't been open too long so I do love checking out new places. We went on a Saturday night, & there were a few tables of diners but mostly people flocked around the bar? To try or not to try? The manager or whom seemed to be was quite welcoming. They were dog friendly in their back patio, it was getting late, food prices were not bad. Okay we can give it a try. Sat outside and it was our own private patio. Our waitress was nice and explained the menu. I drank a torched tiki drink w some tropical juices and rum. So yummy. I loved it. It would have been perfect if it was all dramatic even lighting up the mini tiki on the table would have made it extraordinary, but I did really like it. I ordered my entree of stuffed flounder w shrimp and lobster and it came w white rice and green beans. My hubby ordered a MOJO pork bowl w rice, corn, pork, & won ton chips which made it really good. All in all it was pretty good. I love sauces so I thought my fish was kind of dry at first but it grew for me. What annoyed me the most was it appeared to be a group of people that came outside twice that maybe worked there and they were smoking. I can't control cigarette smokers outside but it kind of killed my meal for a while. Oh well. I really liked the decor inside including the lamps and artwork. I would maybe try it again if I was in the area. I do like the modern Hawaiian style vibe.

Four of us in the group had very different things. Great service, ambiance and parking. Shrimp coconut and chicken bowl were outstanding. Vegetables were outstanding. Stuffed flounder was acceptable, but nobody loved the rice plain. Excellent; would go back for sure.

We have had dinner here a few times and have really enjoyed it! In a recent visit the little lady had Voodoo Grouper and I had the Basillini pasta. Who knew I would order pasta (Ha Ha). I must say that the honey cream sauce was something different that I would never have tried but our waitress recommended and boy was she right. The wifes fish was also equally impressive with shrimp and a Cajun sauce. Nice décor and a fantastic house wine.

Word of mouth travels quickly, and I was anxious to try this place especially since Melbourne is lacking in it's happy hour/discounted food offerings. I mean who doesn't love $2 tacos? My mom and I went on a Friday during happy hour (4-7 which includes drink specials) and $2 taco hour (5-6). I ordered a cocktail on special that was very good while she ordered a beer. Our drink orders were quickly followed by taco orders. I tried the chicken and pork tacos. Both were good and what you would expect for a $2 taco. The pork was my favorite, and I ended up getting another. My mom tried the pork, south seas (grilled), and lobster tacos and claims the south seas taco was the best. We wanted to try some food from the regular menu as well and were about to order the pepper jack cheese planks when our waitress recommended the fried artichoke hearts. They were okay, nothing great. I ended up trying another drink, some type of flavored Mojito on special, and it was nothing like my first drink. It tasted artificial and medicinal. My boyfriend decided to join us last minute but wasn't going to make it by 6, and our waitress was very accommodating in letting us put in his taco order minutes before the $2 taco hour ended. He later got to enjoy the chicken, pork, and south seas tacos. His favorite was also the south seas taco like my mom. The waitress talked us into dessert and recommended the fried apple pie. It was not great and had a funky bitter taste to the after bite and wasn't what we expected. Although we weren't particularly fond of the items we ordered that were recommended by our waitress, she was still a pleasant server, and everyone has different palettes. There were several servers working that night and traffic was about average, so the restaurant must still be weeding them out like any typical new restaurant. I have to admit I was anxious to inspect the original, cheap silverware other Yelpers complained about, but it is no longer and has been replaced by new silverware. Overall, I would recommend this place for happy hour and the $2 taco hour and will be back for just that. Had we paid more than $2 for those tacos with the regular menu price, I would have been disappointed. I would not order anything from the regular menu again, overpriced and average food.

I was excited to try the food at Hula Moon. Sadly, my fish tacos were so bland I did even bother finishing them. My guest said that his ceviche was seriously lacking in flavor and didn't eat his either. I did enjoy their signature fruit punch libation, but it wasn't enough to warrant a trip back.

The first thing I noticed about Hula Moon was how clean, shiny, and new it looked. Hula Moon opened in February so that makes a lot of sense. It didn't take long for us, my girlfriend and I, to be seated as the place wasn't overcrowded that day. We were handed menus; that's when I first noticed that quite a few of the items on the menu were things that I liked, but with a new inventive...Hula-ey twist to them. For instance, after asking the waitress and juggling a few ideas, Julia and I decided on having the Pepper Jack Cheese Planks as an appetizer. (Note: The service was extraordinarily fast) Not too long after we ordered them, they appeared on our table with a smile from our waitress in record time. Deliciously breaded and crispy on the outside, wonderfully cheesy, soft, and tasty on the inside. This is the way of the Pepper Jack cheese plank. The planks were served with, "raspberry lava sauce"; it gave the planks an even more original taste with the sweet coming before the amazing taste of comfortable, melted pepper jack cheese After we hastily polished off the cheese planks it was on to the Entrees. I got the seafood stuffed flounder, while Julia got the Basilini pasta. Both were equally amazing. I started to eat and almost started to scarf it down before I slowed myself down and started to savor every juicy, delectable bite of my flounder with shrimp and lobster stuffing. If the Flounder wasn't enough, the cilantro infused rice was also very tasty. The only thing I would say to the cook, would be that the vegetables were a little bland which is a strange contrast considering the rest of the meal. However, the vegetables were still good and devoured. Julia's meal was equally as tasty; a fettuccine tossed in honey basil cream sauce topped in blackened chicken. I had a small bite and it the taste enveloped my mouth in a sweet, cheesy taste, that I wasn't used to but was new and exciting. A small downside, the Hula Moon doesn't have much to offer in the desert area. I don't usually indulge in desert, but had I planned to, my options would have been rather limited. Julia wanted desert however, so we did get some sort of cake/pie which in it's defense was rather good even if it was simple. The service was fast and pleasant and I wish I remembered the name of our waitress because she was also just the right amount of attentive. She was always courteous and extremely helpful when helping us choose something from the menu. It was a great experience! The ambiance was nice and I enjoyed the local art being displayed all around the restaurant. When I asked about the art work, they actually had the name of the two artists that did most of the work on the walls; Marty Calabrese and Hassan Patterson. It's nice to see a business that respects the local influence as the restaurant itself is not a chain, but local. (Geek Note: Really cool lamp shades as well) Judging by the menu, Hula Moon has a lot of exciting new things to offer and I would urge anyone with a taste for good food and food adventurism to head down there to try something new and delicious!

In town visiting my sister and brother in law and we thought we'd try Hula Moon for dinner. We showed up a little before 9 and there were customers inside, but as we made our way to the front door - we watched the waitress/bartender run to lock the door. Okay we get it you're closed. How about just letting us know at the door, "sorry we're closed?" She then proceeded to laugh about it with the remaining patrons as we stood outside in the parking lot. Needless to say that is one of the rudest experiences I have ever had in a restaurant. I'd recommend that Hula Moon work on their customer service skills as you never know when you'll have an avid traveler and reviewer trying to visit your restaurant. Based on other reviews, looks like the food is good but you could work on a few things. How about we start with treating your customers with respect. We're still here for a few days, but will not be stopping in. On the bright side, my family and I found a fabulous restaurant down the road that is now one of their favorites.

I just adore this place. My family goes at least once a week for the weekday taco special between 5pm and 6pm. Service is wonderful and the food is a delight. When there is live entertainment, it is icing on the cake. And speaking of cake, their chocolate cake desert is to die for!

Just had lunch at Hula, and if I'm honest I left pretty disappointed. Started off with the calamari app, and while the sauce it came with was fairly unique, the dish itself was pretty bland. Ordered the special, a pork/pineapple quesadilla for my main dish. Now the menu board said it was pulled pork but what was inside more closely resembled canned tuna fish. Overall I really liked the atmosphere and staff. Our bartender was very friendly and always had a smile, but the food was extremely unsatisfactory. Might be willing to try this place again, but honestly there are already several other places in Melbourne that have significantly better food at more reasonable prices.

I can here for a Surprise Party for my mom's 70th Birthday. We had roughly 20 people. They were very accommodating to what we wete wanting. The service was outstanding for the group we had. Most of the time with a big group it's hit or miss with the service. On to the food. There is not enough words to describe how WONDERFUL it all was. I do not believe anyone had a bad thing to say. I had the fish and chips. Oh my word - I have actually eaten fish and chips in jolly O England and they put them to shame. The breading was not to much or greasy, very moist, and over the top with flavor. The portions were huge. My dad had a Mongolia bowl and he said the meat was awesome. Not one person had a bad thing to say. I was very impressed. The atmosphere was great. Not really loud for a place to sit at a bar and take in some sports games. If you are looking for a great time of food and fun, do yourself a favor and check this place out!!!

From atmosphere, to food to service, Hula Moon is an exceptionally pleasant experience. The Hula Moon is a pretty place, with ample seating and a large bar in the center of the restaurant. There is even an outdoor seating area for those that prefer the natural elements as well as for the puffers. Aside from the lovely wood furniture and floors, the Hula Moon's walls are peppered with local art work: some of which reminded me of Salvador Dali meets Tim Burton meets the beach. I asked, and the pieces can be purchased. (I'm always appreciative of business owners that allow local artist to show in their establishments. KUDOS!!!) I was immediately seated by a very pleasant server. At one point, I asked about a cocktail and not knowing the answer, my server did go ask and found an answer for me. I appreciated that extra effort. I had reviewed the menu online before I went so knew that I definitely wanted the Lobster Tacos ($12.99). I also tried the Cheesy Wahoo Dip ($8.99) appetizer which came with the best homemade chips I've ever tasted. The dip was creamy, with big chunks of Wahoo, and was very good. For a beverage, I had a Tiki Torch cocktail which was amazing!! This cocktail contains muddled citrus and strawberries, along with exotic flavored rums, and other deliciousy goodness. Yummmmy! Drink these with caution! My tacos came out in a suitable amount of time and were very visually pleasing. (we eat with our eyes first, right?) For the price, you get 3 ample tacos that are stuffed with fried lobster meat, slaw, pico and special sauce: they were delicious. Another pleasant surprise was the side of black beans that are served with the tacos. Some of the best I ever tasted. I later learned that the cook who prepared them credits his mother for the recipe. Yummy indeed! Overall, it was a wonderful place to enjoy an afternoon meal, and even though I live almost an hour north of Indian Harbour Beach, I look forward to returning to the Hula Moon. There are still many menu items that I want to try, (e.g., Pepper Jack Cheese Planks, Seafood Stuffed Flounder, Fried Whole Grouper, etc...).

The bowls are amazing and I love the volcano chicken bites!! This place always has great specials too! :) the bartenders always go above and beyond with specialty drinks. The music is great and there are also cool special events going on too. Love it!! The only thing I would change about it is when they expand, which I'm positive they will ... This place just seems like it's always going to be successful ... they should change the layout to something a little more feng shui it's too big square boring and open I would stay longer and come more often if the layout was a little more groovy

Took family there for dinner, we had been there for lunch a lot, but never dinner. The waitress was polite and prompt. We had two soups (chowder and tortilla chicken) both were good. We had three orders of the Voodoo Grouper and a kids quesadilla. The quesadilla was good. The Voodoo Grouper was not grouper. It was the wrong shape, color, texture and taste. Grouper has a unique taste and is never a dark meat fish. It was ok tasting and the sides (cheezy grits and veggies) were good. But we were very disappointed at being charged a premium $22.99 per person for something that clearly was not the grouper that was advertised. They lost us as customers. We won't be back. I question what else they are changing from their menu and not telling the customer.

My parents have been raving about this place since it opened, and I was finally able to come down from North Carolina and made it a point to try it while I was there! The drinks and appetizers were excellent, I definitely recommend the strawberry peach sangria and fish dip!! I loved my Mongolian beef bowl for my entree and my husband loved his 1/2 lb monster mahi! Definitely looking forward to our next trip to Florida for Hula Moon!

Service was good. Food was bad. I ordered fried shrimp, figuring they couldn't mess that up. My wife ordered chicken burrito figuring the same. Boy were we WRONG!! It came out almost as quickly as we ordered and I said to my wife, 'wow that was almost too quick'. I was right. The shrimp was raw in the middle. I ended up paying $20 for a chicken burrito and a glass of tea a all of which were poor at best!; I learned that you can mess up fried shrimp.

Great food. I have tried their vodoo grouper, mahi, and poke bowls and all were delicious. Cheese planks are a new take on mozzarella sticks. The combo with cranberry sauce was surprisingly good. Portions large and prices fair. Staff was kind and attentive. We will definitely be back again!

I came here with a group of four, plus an 18-month old, and were seated timely at a long booth with high chair. The decor is upscale casual. Perhaps since everything is new, it feels a little less casual. There is no atmosphere yet, but they are trying. Service was great, and friendly, but slightly uninformed about some menu offerings. I had asked a question of what was in a particular dish, and our server basically read the menu over my shoulder. We ordered four dishes, and shared with the baby. The food was good, but perhaps not quite good enough for the pricing. Everything we ordered was served with or on a bed of cilantro-lime rice. The long grain rice was under-cooked and too firm and dry. It felt like the cilantro and lime were added after cooking, as the rice itself was not infused with a great amount of flavor from this selection of seasonings. Rice can seem like such a simple item, but if prepared incorrectly, it can ruin an otherwise excellent meal (which it did for everyone in our party). The seafood items were of high quality, and their poke (tuna) was sushi grade. One item ordered was a fried whole red snapper. There was very little seasoning on it, and it tasted fine, but was rather plain. Perhaps they need to use seasoned flour or offer something on the tables beyond the generic salt and pepper. Soy sauce or spicy chili would have been nice. My major complaint was the flatware. It was new, but did not match the rest of the decor in quality. The set they use is probably the least expensive item they ordered from a restaurant supply store. The forks were tiny! I would have much rather seen them buy one less flat screen TV and divert those funds to some heftier flatware. All-in-all, I think since this establishment is so new, they are still trying to find their stride and identify. I would have liked to try their bar offerings, but I prefer to have non-alcoholic drinks with my meals when I visit a new place. I will revisit them in a few months to see how things have changed, and hope they are successful. They have unique menu offers, and have a chance to become a stand-out location within our community.

Outstanding service. Went with a large party, and our server never missed a beat. The food was mostly excellent. The fish, lobster and pulled pork tacos were as good as any I've had anywhere. Calamari was great, although I would like to see more dipping sauce options. The Bahamian fritters were light and delicious. Pasta entree was also a hit. Well worth a visit!

I am a local resident and we are always searching for new, quality restaurants in the area. Let me say that Hula Moon achieves in one of these two areas. They are relatively new and located in a close, convenient location. The food is far from quality... Our first experience was for lunch and the establishment was near empty. The service was good and attentive. Three of the four individuals in my lunch party ordered a Poke bowl, and I ordered a pastrami sandwich. I requested a substitution of fries instead of the chips that came with the sandwich. Unfortunately, the below average, small, bland sandwich arrived at the table with the included chips. The three remaining folks in my party all agreed that their Poke bowls were extremely tasteless and bland (other than the odd tasting rice) and did not include enough tuna or pork. The first lunch experience was extremely poor in regard to food quality, freshness, taste, and price. At this point, I should have stuck to my word after leaving and making the decision that Hula Moon was not worth another visit. Diners can do much better in the area at a lower cost. I went against instinct and decided to give Hula Moon another visit for dinner. This visit offered all of the same. We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Sunday late afternoon and Hula Moon was again empty with the exception of two bar patrons. There were five in my dinner party and all agreed that the service was good and the food was horrible. I, along with my son, became very ill later that evening and throughout the following day. We both ate the same exact food. My son ordered the stuffed flounder and I ordered the fish and chips. We split the meals so that we could try both plates. The bottom line is that neither of us consume alcohol, and we received food poisoning from the bad seafood. Another in our party ordered the "lobster" tacos. They were high priced and according to the diner, the lobster had a very odd taste. She doubted that the lobster was actually real lobster. The other two diners had chicken tacos and they arrived with ample, tasteless shredded chicken that resembled canned tuna on the taco shell. The verdict on the chicken tacos were again rated as below average and tasteless. Well, needless to say, we all left extremely disappointed after our dinner. We all agreed, and I will definitely stick with my instincts this time, to never patronize Hula Moon again. This is unfortunate due to the convenient location. There are several other area establishments that offer food of superior quality, taste, freshness, and price. I (we) definitely do not recommend Hula Moon for lunch or dinner. You can do much better!

Totally love their food and the owner-George always takes great care of us. My favorite is the Embargo but I have tried many different things and can't complain about any of it. Love the authentic Hawaiian feel to this place and truly reflects in the food and service.

This place is across the street from us. I was very excited when it opened. Decent food. Decent bar. Low end wine list and won't let us bring a bottle in. The food is a bit on the salt laden side. I'll go now and again but only in a pinch.

Had dinner last night at Hula Moon. My husband and I ordered the artichoke appetizer which had way too much batter on it but they were ok. I ordered the Hawaiian rib eye to be cooked well done for my entree. When my plate came out it looked like my food was just thrown on the plate there was no thought put into the platting, which made it look unappetizing. The rib eye definitely resembled a pork chop and not a steak. Although I ordered the the steak to be well done it was bloody in spots. The mashed potatoes which looked good were warm on the outside and ice cold on the inside. When the waitress came back I told her my steak wasn't cooked right and the mashed potatoes were cold and she apologized and brought the food back to the kitchen. When my food returned the steak had been cut up into little pieces and had a ton of sauce on it. I inquired about the sauce and she said it was supposed to be like that, which confused me because the original meal didn't have sauce on it? I think any good piece of meat doesn't need to be slathered in a sauce, the meat wasn't quality and it was being masked my a gloppy gooey sauce. I'll give Hula Moon two stars because the staff was pleasant but the food not so good.

Went to the Grand Opening with family and a friend visiting from San Francisco. Friend got food poisoning, and some of us were close to same. Food taste was bland, and not authentic Hawaiian. My Kalua Pork was dry, bland and served with black beans and rice like Cuban style. I used to live in Hawaii, and dis ain't it bruddah. Service was okay, but because of the food and after effects, I will not be back even though it's the closest place to our condo.

Friendly staff and great happy hour! Good beer selection, $2.00 pints during happy hour to 6 PM. Wine was $3.50, and not that cheap swill you get with most house wines. Appetizer was deep fried over cooked coconut chicken, don't order that! Fish tacos are only $2.00 during happy hour!! Noticed lots of locals at bar which is always a good sign. Great atmosphere, we will be back!

Happy hour $2 tacos and $2.50 domestic drafts are worth a visit. Nothing spectacular , but $2 is $2 ... I will stop back to try the full menu sometime

It's clean, good service, and good location. I expected the prices to be higher, but they were right in line with similar establishments in the area. Agreeing with another review, the menu is definitely unoriginal. I was expecting a different cuisine based on the restaurant name. The rice (which comes with almost everything) was dull. If you want to make good cilantro/lime rice here's a hint mix it together before you put it on the plate and add a little salt and garlic powder. The mahi tacos (which almost everyone in the area serves) held a very small piece of fish which wasn't seasoned and was a bit cold in the middle. The tortillas weren't even heated. We ordered a dessert to see how they were. Clearly it came prepackaged from a mass supplier because it certainly wasn't fresh made. All in all, I probably won't go back just because I can get the same thing, better prepared, elsewhere. One last suggestion for the owners, have a designated smoking area for your patrons that smoke. It's really unappetizing to walk through a cloud of smokers just to get in the door.

This place just opened near our house. We were expecting bar food when we went so we had low expectations as we just wanted a night out. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. The appetizer and the meals were pretty good. We had a few drinks that were quite yummy as well. We will go back here in the near future!!

Must try!!! Modern Polynesian style pub. Awesome concept and awesome food! Specials daily and happy hour! Full liquor bar. Got to try the poke' bowl! Lots of TVs and great atmosphere! A must go to!!!

Finally big city food comes to Indian harbour beach. The menu obviously has been created by a chef. From the fritters and the calamari for appetizers to the lobster tacos and fish and chips for entrees to the chocolate cake and sweet fried plantains for dessert all 5 star!!! Many very creative dishes beautify prepared. Excellent service, great atmosphere. Oh and before I forget awesome drinks. Being an x NYC restaurant chef I am very critical but I could not find anything to fault. This is definitely my new favorite place.

Great place for food and atmosphere. The appetizers of calamari and coconut chicken were tasty. The ahi poke was excellent and seasoned correctly. Will definitely go back again.

I had lunch at Hula Moon Tiki Grill. I had a Tuna Poke, a mix of Sushi Grade tuna, that is pretty much raw served over cilantro rice with a sweet sauce. A nearly identical Tuna Poke is available at Grill Riverside. At HH the dish costs 13.99. The flavor and preparation of this dish at Grills and HH is nearly identical but at Grills, the dish costs less, comes with a seaweed salad side and has more tuna. Hula Moon needs to make some quick corrections if they are going to make it. In building their restaurant they did many things right but they dropped to ball completely in several others. The cutlery as mentioned by another reviewer is a joke. The cheapest cutlery at Walmart is better. The cutlery in any Brevard public school cafeteria is better. This is the cheapest, flimsiest, lightest cutlery I have seen in a restaurant ever. It looks and feels cheap. I wonder what it is made of. It has no place in any restaurant especially any that has food items with double digit price tags. I would suggest they donate the cutlery to a homeless shelter but I think a homeless shelter would be embarrassed to use it. It appears that Hula Moon also bought the very cheapest booths they could find. The booths appear to me made of very cheap vinyl. The booths just stink. Literally. They small like a really cheap rubber / fake leather athletic ball. They feel sticky. They are gross. I would prefer a picnic bench at Long Doggers, something that is casual but real, over something trying to look good that is completely fake. Get rid of the booths NOW please. Hula Moon did a great job on their menu. The design is great. It appears corporate and professional even though they are not a chain. What HH needs is a lunch menu. Satellite Beach is a price sensitive market. If your menu has almost nothing priced under $10.00 and your theme is a casual one, your restaurant will be mostly empty at lunch. Restaurants that understand this concept make it and are full, (Long Doggers, Nippon Thai, Doubles, Texas Roadhouse etc.). Restaurants that do not get this concept go out of business (Tonic). The restaurant needs more things Hawaiian to make the Hawaii theme work. Tan walls, nice wood floor, wood chairs... it does not look especially Hawaiian. How about Hawaiian or surf music, (Pandora could do this), some Hawaiian photos or artwork, Hawaiian beer at cheap prices, grass skirts for the wait staff. Perhaps Hula Moons owners need to visit Hawaiian fine dining micro chain Roy's in Orlando and take copious notes. The food is pretty good, but about 20% over priced. The décor is pretty good. The cutlery is beyond horrendous but this is a fixable problem. I will give it another try in a few months. For now it is just O-K and the reason I will not be back soon is that there are better dining options. I would love to see this place fix the problems, and step up their game. Thee Stars for now.

Menu seemed very unfocused and very limited, especially since they were out of the snapper. I'm not sure what type of restaurant they are striving to be-Mexican (tacos), Asian (bowls), seafood, sandwiches... Food was just ok. Our waiter was very nice but trying too hard which made it awkward as well. Good start, but needs some work.

Good place overall with a nice relaxed Polynesian vibe. I'll definitely go back and try more of the menu but what I've had so far is good. The thing this place can hang its hat on is the waitstaff. Everyone was so pleasant, friendly, helpful, and cheery that I would go back in a heartbeat.

The service was horrible. The wait staff was tripping over each other but our waiter was slow to check on us. Sat us down without checking if we had a set up-we didn't. Took order and left, didn't check back on us to see if we wanted another drink. I was really disappointed. Liked the atmosphere but with all the wait staff I expected to be checked on to see if I wanted another drink. Please train your wait staff to make sure there is a set up, and to check on guest.

Menu is unoriginal, didn't see anything on the menu that would make me come back. The food was only ok and the waitress had absolutely no clue about the menu. She couldn't answer basics. Not likely to go back.

Although the atmosphere is nice, the food and service are both poor quality. My girlfriend and I were seated quickly but it took almost 10 minutes to be greeted by our server. I ordered the grouper tacos, but what came in the tacos was either Swai or Tilapia (both are bottom-feeding fish from Southeast Asia and very obviously not grouper). This is actually a very common practice among some restaurants that want to save food costs on purchasing the expensive grouper fillets, so they buy Swai or Tilapia instead but still market it and charge diners the grouper price, betting on the fact that most diners won't be able to tell the difference (especially when it's put in something like a fish taco). It's dishonest business and a sure mark of poor management. How can you tell? The difference is easily told by the thickness of the "flakes" of the fish fillet (even thin grouper fillets have thick, firm "flakes," tilapia flakes are very thin and mushy.) I've been catching and eating my own grouper for years so it's obvious to me or anyone who has. Study the two fishes at the grocery store next time you're in the seafood section, you'll see. Anyway, there are far better eateries in the area worth spending your money at. Oh and none of the other food or sides was anything special or even particularly fresh. I won't be going back.
